Who we are
With over 200 members, the Green Bay Chapter of Trout Unlimited is part of the Wisconsin State Councils' 21 chapters and 4,300 members. TU National, our umbrella organization, was founded in 1959 and consists of 400 Chapters and 140,000 members. All are commited to conserving, protecting and restoring our coldwater fisheries and watersheds.
We invite you to join us in the chapters' activities: monthly meetings, fundraising banquet, summer stream work projects and Kids Fishing Day. Our monthly meetings begin at 7:00 pm on the 1st Thursday of the month from September to May at the Ashwaubenon Bowling Alley, 2929 Allied St., Green Bay. We use the monthly meetings to learn more about conservation efforts, fishing, and to plan the best uses of our funds and member efforts. The two exceptions are the December Dinner & Awards meeting held at various sites and the annual chapter picnic held in June. Our annual fundraising banquet is held in mid-February and has the well-deserved reputation of being the best around. The banquet is a great night out with games, raffles, auctions, and prizes. Attending the summer work projects is a great way to meet other members and give back to the cold water resource we enjoy. Kids Fishing Day is held during the summer at the Izaak Walton League ponds in collabaration with the PALs Program.

President & Membership Chair: Randal Rake
member since 1990
Randy is a Life Member of TU and is active throughout the chapters many activities. Fly-fishing for trout since age 12 in central Pennsylvania, he developed a deep understanding of the interdependent relationship of humans and the environment.
Vice-President & Work Projects Chair: Lee Meyers
member since 1989
Lee is a retired DNR Fisheries Biologist and worked on trout studies and coordinated Trout Stamp habitat projects for NE Wisconsin. He started trout fishing at age 12 and is going strong 50 years hence. Lee's fishing style has evolved from a total harvester to catch and release, with selective harvest. He has a great appreciation for the unique resource that trout represent and their presence indicating a healthy environment.
Secretary & Treasurer: Aaron Frailing
member since 2010
Aaron joined the chapter after moving back to Wisconsin from living in Montana for several years. He quickly became an active chapter member by being aware of the significance between cold water fisheries to the environment and the importance of cooperation in conservation.
At large: Pat Hill
member since 1988
Pat is regarded for his quiet, steady and faithful service to the chapter. Always quick with a joke or two and never scared of the hard labor of work projects, his service is a touchstone for all TU members.
Legislative Chair: Staush Gruszynski
member since 2012
Staush is the Northeast Organizer with Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters, working with conservation organizations to pass legislation protecting cold water resources. Growing up fishing in Marinette County, he continues to enjoy angling across the Midwest. Staush joined Trout Unlimited to ensure that future generations have the same outdoor experience he was lucky enough to enjoy as a child and now as an adult.
Education Co-chair: Jack Koivisto
member since 1975
Jack joined the chapter after moving to Green Bay from MI in 1969. He has continued fishing trout throughout the upper mid-west and western states such as Wyoming, Montana, Utah, and Idaho as well as Canada. GBTU has offered him an avenue to help protect and enhance our awesome trout waters.
Education Co-chair: Adrian Meseberg
member since 2010
Adrian grew up up in Southwest Wisconsin enabling him to see and benefit from the stream and river restoration efforts of the Kickapoo Valley. He wants to make sure efforts like these continue through our chapter's work.
Past President: Paul Kruse
member since 1995
Paul started with GBTU after reading a Mitch Bent article about the chapter. Fishing local streams with garden hackle as a teenager, he now enjoys stream and tributary fishing with a fly rod. Paul understands TU is more about people and the environment than just trout fishing. Fly-fishing for trout allows him the opportunity to be in a peaceful setting with nature, as trout inhabit the most beautiful places on earth and are worth protecting for future generations.
Technology Chair: Mike Renish
member since 2008
Mike started trout fishing as a young boy spending summers at the cabin with his grandfather near Adams/Friendship located in Adams county, WI. He was also influenced by his brother David and Uncle Joe who were both avid fly fishermen. He enjoys working with TU because of the organization's conservation track record.
